This initiative is targeted towards former tenants whom Department of Housing and Works is unwilling to house because of their poor tenancy history.
Local community organisations head lease Department of Housing rental properties. Lease terms are negotiated with the community organisation. Regions retain responsibility for all day to day liaison with the community agency, whilst Community Housing is responsible for financial accountability and review of the lease at the end of the term.
The Department of Housing and Works will also consider special project initiatives. This might include special lease hold arrangements, innovative project financing arrangements, and assisting groups to access alternative program funding.
